In this post, we’ll dive into the details of wrap and turn short rows, including how to execute the technique and how to integrate it into your favorite patterns. So, let’s grab our needles and get started!
Point where pattern says wrap and turn. You are going to wrap first stitch from the left hand needle
You knit to the place where pattern says wrap and turn (w&t). Next stitch will be wrapped. Bring working yarn to the front between needles.
Slip stitch purl-wise to the right hand needle
Slipped stitch on the right hand neeedle
Bring the working yarn to the back.
Slip the wrapped stitch back to the left hand needle. Turn to the wrong side.
Wrong side. Continue to purl as normal.
Wrap and turn on the wrong side (purl side)
The first stitch on the left hand needle will get the wrap. Slip this stitch purl-wise on the right hand needle
Put slipped stitch back onto left hand needle.
When you turn on the right side it will look like this.
Bring the yarn behind and continue knitting as usual.

Pick up wraps on the right side
Picking up wraps on the right side. You will not miss the wrapped stitch. Firstly, put the needle into the wrap as to knit.
Secondly, put needle into the actual stitch knit-wise.
Knit two together – k2tog
Completed stitch. You will notice it will look stretched over two rows. In ready garment it will be barely visible
Pick up wraps on the wrong side
This wrap we pick up form the right side. Put right hand needle into the wrap purl-wise
Wrap is picked up.
Slip picked wrap onto left hand needle
Purl two together – p2tog
